LABORATORY FOR COMPUTATIONAL MECHATRONICS (Lab COME)

1. INTRODUCTION

The Laboratory for Computational Mechatronics (Lab COME) was established in 2022 as a research unit of  Institute for Computational Science and Artificial Intelligence, Van Lang University.  Lab COME focuses on the development of advanced mechatronic systems through the integration of computational modeling, control theory, and experimental validation. The Lab COME‘s research spans various domains, including robotics, automotive systems, aerospace engineering, and biomedical devices. The lab’s primary aim is to tackle complex engineering problems by combining theoretical analysis, simulation, and experimentation. The Lab COME also serves as a platform for collaboration between researchers from various disciplines, including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and physics, to develop cutting-edge mechatronic systems with real-world applications.

2. MISSION AND VISION

The mission of the Lab COME is to advance the field of mechatronics through interdisciplinary research, education, and technology transfer. The Lab COME aims to solve complex engineering problems by developing innovative mechatronic systems that integrate sensing, actuation, and control technologies. The lab strives to bridge the gap between theory and practice by combining analytical and computational modeling with experimental validation.

The vision of the Lab COME is to become a leading research center in the field of mechatronics by developing breakthrough technologies and fostering collaborations between researchers from various disciplines. The lab seeks to create a dynamic and inclusive research environment that promotes creativity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. The Lab COME also aims to prepare the next generation of mechatronic engineers by providing hands-on research experience, training in cutting-edge technologies, and opportunities for professional development.
